BLM Wildland Fire Management Information - Lightning - User Access Request Information

Note: Access to the WFMI Lightning module is only allowed to those individuals involved with the wildland fire management community.

To request access to the Lightning module on the BLM Wildland Fire Management Information (WFMI) website, an individual must e-mail (or phone) an access request to the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) Help Desk.

The request must include the following information about the person requesting access:

  • First and last name
  • Job title
  • Phone number (including area-code)
  • Government or work e-mail address
  • Time-zone (and whether Daylight Savings Time applies)
  • Employer (organization, unit, subunit; i.e.: USFS, Region 04, Boise NF)

All users of the WFMI web-site must read and agree to abide by the following: General Rules and Guidelines Governing the Use of Bureau of Land Management Computer Systems.

To request archived lightning data (data older than 90 days) for Wildland Fire Management purposes (only), please contact Herb Arnold at the National Interagency Fire Center.
